Generated Responsive HTML 5 only shows the TOC and topics don't open

ExtendScript doesn't recognize variables passed to doc.NewAnchoredFormattedVar (b_var, textLoc) !
Hi all,
I am currently developing a script that automates the addition of new paragraph text comprising variables and string. b_user_inputis the the variable name defined in framemaker which is input by the user. However doc.NewAnchoredFormattedVar is not able to recognize the same and prints nothing in the document. Then I tried putting the input string within quotes thinking it might work, but that didn't work too(i.e. var b_var = "\""+ffFmt.Name+"\"";
var bbFmt = doc.GetNamedObject (Constants.FO_VarFmt, b_user_input); //b_user_input = "Variable_b"
var b_var =bbFmt.Name;
doc.AddText (textLoc, "Var_b value: ");

It would be great if you could let me know how to make this work.

Hi, all.
My publishing of a .chm file from FrameMaker 2015 is failing and I am getting error message in the log like this:
The file "[name]" is already listed in the [FILES] section of the project file.
What does this mean? How do I fix it? I cannot afford to have FM throwing up on me now ...

How to get rid of "unsafe script"
Dear all,
I want to call a script from a menu and tool bar. In both cases I get the message
Script Alert
You are about to run a script in Adobe FrameMaker 2015. You should only run scripts from a trusted source.
Do you want to run the script?
I can accept this with Yes and then the script is executed.
This is more than annoying. So I tried to use jsxbin. But this does not execute the script at all. In menus.cfg I have:

Is this a bug?
The paragraph tags at the end of this page are not displaying the correct content but I verified they are the correct paragraphs tags. And the weird part is that it only is an issue at the end of the page. Continuing on in the document, everything is fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Generate list of image files used in a book
Is there a way to generate a list of images used in a book? Not to include within the book, but to use for maintenance and cleanup of files. I have many legacy books that go back 10 years, and would like a quick way to identify those images still in use so I can delete the rest, per book.

Why won't "medium" hyphenate
I am converting a manual from InDesign to FrameMaker. To get the text in FM, all of the text is exported from InDesign to text only, and it is copied from there and pasted into FM.
Now and then there are soft line breaks that I need to delete. This is what I was doing within the word "medium" when I hit the delete one too many times.
Now it seems I have taught FM never to hyphenate the word medium.
It is still hyphenated in the Spelling dialog screen. Here's what I've tried to fix it:
- I've tried re-applying hyphenation (several times) to no avail.
- I've tried deleting the word medium and retyping it
- I've tried adding "me-di-um" to the site dictionary and applying hyphenation again
- I've tried closing the file and reopening and reapplying hyphenation again
- I set Personal dictionary to None
- I cleared the Document dictionary
I'm out of ideas. It's a three-column document, so it's important.
Anyone know what I am missing?

Change default position of images (Dita 1.2)
Hi,
when I insert an image element into a paragraph then I would like to have the placement attribute automatically set to inline. Can I control this over the EDD? When I set the attribute as optional and define inline as the default in the EDD then this is simplay ignored by Framemaker.
However, when I set the attribute as required then I cannot define a default value at all.

Spread (FM10) letter spacing (FM2017)
Hello,
In FM10 the spread -10% (and font color Red) was used for hide tekst (Titles) used by HF/R. See picture. The black box is the Title, it stands outside the text frame.
In FM2017 the spread (Letter Spacing) can't handle the -10% as FM10 does. How do I hide the text, align the text outside the text frame?
Or are there better solutions to hide text?

I have two end-of-document markers at the end of my document which gives me three blank pages at the end of the document. How can I remove the extra pages?

How to reverse a change all command
I am running FM 11.0.2.384 on Windows 7, and have accidentally changed upwards of 700 text items in a book which has nearly 30 chapters incorrectly, by inadvertently activating the text "A" shortcut, with the search and replace window open.
While extremely frustrating and time-consuming, I could re-run a search for the boolean string. Unfortunately, the replacement text box was blank.
The original text has been replaced with a space, which I can't accurately search for, considering the original word had plurals as well as past-tense instances.
Is there any way in which I can reverse a "change all" command from within the Framemaker 11 interface?

strange erors importing temlate over book
Hi,
I build a new template and edd.
Our technical writer importet the template and edd, into his book. genaraly it works fine but sometimes it's acting strangely:
- titles are not displayed,
- paragraphs have wrong formating
As example problems with ANSI and Title_4
The upper ANSI, is displayed incorrectly, the title is missing.
the lower ANSI, was also displayed incorectly then moved out of title_4 and boom the title was there.
any ideas/hints or triks welcome

wrong numbering in table of content
hi,
the numbering of the tiles in the book is correct but while genarating out of the book a table of content the numbering of the tiles fail.
every title_1 has the number 1 title_2 and 3 work perfectly.
in the template
title_1TOC has T:< =0>< =0>< >
title_2TOC has T:.<n+>< =0>< >
title_3TOC has T:.<n>.<n+>< >
the TOC in the referecepage looks like following

Document [Name] uses unavailable fonts
I have tried almost everything to resolve this issue, which is preventing me from doing anything other than editing files using Framemaker 2015. When I attempt to generate a PDF from a book, I get the same message in a pop up. The document(s) contain linked Powerpoint and imported tiff images. On opening, I see the popup unavailable fonts message for any document I have created.
I have installed/reinstalled/removed/installed the offending font at least 4 times, but have not been able to resolve this issue.
Could this problem be related to my use of Arial fonts in the linked Powerpoint slides?
It has been YEARS since I used Framemaker, so; I will call me a novice with a deadline on Friday! Please help.

Help my formatting toolbar is gone
I haven't touched framemaker in over 10 years. We are now going to use it for S1000D. Oh Joy! But while getting a feel of the software, I don't know what I did but my format toolbar is now gone? How do I get it back?

Escape characters in MIF files
Our team is trying to implement import and export of the MIF files in our translation software, and we have several additional questions about using escape characters in the MIF files:
1. Should we set escape characters before non-ASCII characters in the MIF files made with the recent FrameMaker versions?
2. If yes, which notation should we use \x or \u?
3. Are \x and \u in the MIF files equal for the FrameMaker? I.e. \xA0 and \u00A0 are regarded as the same character, right?
4. Your MIF specification says that all FrameMaker characters with values above the standard ASCII range (greater than \x7f) are represented in a string by using \xnn notation, where nn represents the hexadecimal code for the character. The hexadecimal digits must be followed by a space. We have file samples which do not meet the requirement about following space but work well with the FrameMaker. Could you please let us know whether this requirement is mandatory?
We would appreciate any help.
