Before I dive deep into the Framescript/ES methods, is it possible to extract linked Excel/Visio (OLE) objects from a Framemaker file and save them as separate files to a certain folder? From a quick glance, Framescript 5.2 doesn't seem to support this. Haven't checked ES yet.

After loading the cgm file into frame maker i have to link the hot spot in the graphic to the text part in the frame maker file.
I am not getting the hot spot link defined by the illustrator in the graphic.
Sample cgm file in the below path

I am not able to find any frame maker function to sort the table in ascending order with respect to column 1. Please, guide me how I can write the extended script in frame maker to sort the table.

Operating System Windows 7
FM2015, version 13.0.4.532.
Attempting to publish a large book (4 Introduction-type files, then 3 groups; group 1 has 4 child books, group 2 has 24 child books, group 3 has 8 child books, for a total of 296 files, and approximately 500 images throughout all imported by reference). I have 100 MB hard disk space and plenty of memory. All files are opened. I get the "Failed importing documents" message during the “Building TOC…” process after all files have been converted.
I have attempted 5 - 6 times. Always get the same result.
Is 100MB not enough space to publish the large book? If so, I may to figure out a work around.
Please help.
I have built our TCS6 package using CCP. I am attempting to deploy through SCCM to Windows 10 machines. I have not had any problems with previous versions following the Adobe procedures.
I am thinking that there is either a compatibility issue with Windows 10 or a problem with how it was packaged.
I attempted to install the package locally on a Windows 10 machine with no success.
Any advice?
When I Print to PDF, the table works fine.
When I Save as PDF, the content is generated but it is invisible.
This was first seen in 13.0.0.33 and it persists in 13.0.4.253.
These are simple tables, with no conditional text, text insets, variables, strange para or char formats.
MIF-washing did not fix it.
I saw it last night on my machine in Boston, and reproduced it this morning here and on a different machine with a different file by a different writer in Hyderabad, India.
I am trying to create a List of Tables and List of Figures that looks like my Table of Contents. My Table of Contents uses a side hide for the Chapter Number and the Chapter name and Heading titles in the column.
I want the List of Figures and List of Tables to use the Figure Number and the Table Number in the Side Head of their respective documents, and the Figure Captions and Table Captions in the column.
However, In the Table of Contents the <$chapnum> building block is used to create the Chapter number in the Side Head. How can I do this for the Figure and Table lists? I am including images of what I would like generated files to look like.
I am trying to create a Master Help file (Index.htm) that the user will be able to launch other help (Index.htm) files.
I want to use the following if possible:

Hi,
I have a FM2015 book which has been translated into THAI language. The THAI book has been worked on by a service provider in Thailand, now that I am opening the files on my comupter the whole text is just in question marks. The font is installed. I have a former version of that document as FM10 book, which, once I open it with FM2015, is just fine. Same font. Any ideas?

Ok I have created a document in structured frame and saved it out as sgml. Using Arbortext Editor I opened the converted document and am having problems with the tables coming across correctly.
they are coming in as markup and not image as they should. Further, it is not recognizing spanned cells.
Another issue is when I bring it back from sgml into framemaker, it does not recognized the paragraph format NAMES. The formatting is correct, the numbering is correct, but everything is called body.
I am going crazy trying to insert a screenshot into my FrameMaker document. When I insert the .tiff image, the quality of the image becomes pixelated and cheap looking. Any ideas on how I can fix this? The file is 973 KB.
Is there any plugin in FrameMaker 2015 for Indian languages like Marathi & Hindi?
I'm a long time Framemaker user (v 12). As of 3 pm Friday 8/5, FM won't start under windows 10. It shows up in the task manager but not on screen and it can't be used. This came after a simple reboot of the computer, that I do every day. I used it all day up until 3 pm with no problems. What could be wrong?
The whole question is in the title.

I was using the publish to APS feature in FM 2015 and it seems to be fine with small books (<10 files) or a small chapter file<10 pages. I have set the paragraph format Heading2 to break up the chapter into smaller chunks, but now FM just crashes continually. I tried other output options and all of them now crash FM. I liked publishing to APS because it generated a nice individual HTML file. FM is getting too frustrating to use as an authoring tool. Nothing seems to work as advertised except basic functionality.

I'm new to the FrameMaker interface (though have past experience with DreamWeaver) and cannot easily find HOW TO create a CONTACT page with fields for filling in the visitors' email addresses and other contact information. Please point me in the right direction.
I recently upgraded to Windows 10, TCS wouldn't work properly. I tried reinstalling, most of the programs came back and were updated. Acrobat appears in the start menu but doesn't fire up. I spoke to someone on the phone who emailed me, asked me to reply to the email but no response.
Anyone else had this, any suggestions?

Tearing my hair out, can anyone help...
I know this is possible, I achieved a very good result back in April after a fairly brief search of the internet for a method. It was so easy I didn't feel the need to record the method, or where I found the advice. Yes, I KNOW how stupid that was.
I am at work, so no possibility of updating software or using Mif2go. Not sure that Mif2go would work on such primitive files anyway. I am using FM+SGML 5.5 to create unstructured files arranged in a book file. I need to convert these files, individually or as a book, to rtf, preserving as much as possible of the formatting.
I seem to recall Acrobat Distiller being involved in the process I used before. I still have the resulting file, which has retained all the paratags. I think I had to tweak the para definitions and replace the headers and footers. Cross references are missing. I have had no luck recreating the method, or finding it again on the internet.
Any help gratefully received.
